BLOSSOM MERTZ
Blossom Mertz, a wanderer, pigment forager, printmaker and paint-maker (he has skills too numerous to list, actually! weaving and letter-press expertise among them) established Wildland Press in Madrid, New Mexico in Autumn 2017.
In addition to custom letter press items, Wildland Press offers a range of wild-foraged, handmade watercolor sets and dry pigments.
He describes his process as follows: “I hike through the hills of New Mexico as my daily meditation and collect minerals to grind into artist-quality pigments. I use them to produce watercolor paints and make them available in their natural form.”
