Jenny Dean has been researching and using natural plant dyes for over forty years. She has written widely on the subject and her books include The Craft of Natural Dyeing, Wild Colour, Colours from Nature & A Heritage of Colour. Her work has been featured in several magazine articles and also in a BBC Radio programme with Kaffe Fasset.

Jenny has taught and lectured on natural dyeing for many years and she has an extensive collection of naturally-dyed textiles from around the world which are the focus of many of her lectures. She has led workshops in Spain and Zambia as well as at the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew, Cambridge University Botanic Garden, Fishbourne Roman Palace and for the Royal Horticultural Society and English Heritage; she has also tutored residential courses for the Guild of Weavers, Spinners & Dyers and for the Embroiderers’ Guild.
