 MARJORIE MORGAN

Marjorie Morgan is an artist who grew up in Vermont and currently lives and works in Western Massachusetts. A career as a professional dancer came to a halt after serious injury in 2011 greatly reduced Marjorie's ability to dance and perform. Since then, she has focused primarily on painting and printmaking. She says that lately, she’s been “completely captivated by the practice of making my own inks and using them in drawing, painting and printmaking. Working with handmade, natural inks integrates so many parts of myself: spiritual, scientific, artistic, environmental, culinary, magical and creative. Collaborating with living/changing materials is deeply satisfying, and allows me to develop qualities of patience, compassion and adaptability.“ Pokeberry inks, and lakes made from turmeric, beet and indigo are a few pigments she uses in her work. Marjorie teaches classes in sustainable printmaking at zea mays printmaking studio.
