JILL DE VRIES
My name is Jill de Vries and I'm living with my family in the middle of Holland, in the city called "Almere".
Our home (that we've build ourself) lies next to a sweet little forrest. We've got a big garden with a lot of animals in it and we've got our own "paint" garden from where I create my own lake pigments,, watercolor paint and ink. I also create paint from pigments i find doing trips and in my surroundings.
Since 2003 i'm a proud owner of my own studio. I love to work with my hands and what mother nature gives us. My studio also has a little gift shop, where i sale my own handmade products such as ceramics, paint, ink and paper. Occasionally we give workshops to students, we teach them how to make paints, inks and paper from plants and other organic materials.
I’m very grateful with my work as a "pigment hunter" and loving it to search for materials i can use. Every time i make a new dye bath or filter a new collected pigment I’m exited about it. We use everything from a plant and nothing is lost. Mother nature gives us so many treasures.
