SOPHIE TWISS
Sophie Twiss is an ecological artist whose work explores narratives of place through materials and processes. She uses process-based actions to explore time and temporality. For the past few years she has been dedicated to a botanical mapping project; an abstract mapping of environment through plants, investigating the connections that weave plants, people and place. Her research into colours distilled from plants and natural dyes has led to a colourful journey and an ongoing experimental investigation into materials and networks.
Sophie grew up in the North of England and is based in the South of Spain. Her work aims to encourage appreciation and connection to the natural world.
